If you read my post on this week's goals, you know that I've got quite a bit of time to myself right now... and I'm trying to make the most of it. When left on my own, I tend to eat kind of crazily. I'll skip meals, eat erratically, and find myself getting takeout or just throwing whatever I have together (usually not the healthiest options... like boxed mac and cheese) at the end of the day. Does anyone else eat like an insane person when left alone? Just me? Okay.
Because I'm focusing on self-care this week, I wanted to avoid falling into that slump by meal-planning and grocery shopping. I put together my menu ideas today and went and picked up all of my groceries. This trip cost me $109 which might sound like a lot of money for a week of meals, but if you add up takeout or smaller trips to the store here and there... I promise menu planning ends up saving you money in the long run!
When planning a week for myself, I like to eat the same thing for breakfast, two lunch options, set dinners, and at least one meal that can translate into multiple options on multiple days. I also like to include sweets because if I don't, I'll go buy candy or something! With that formula in mind, here's what I've got:
